As a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in food safety and quality assurance facility audits, develop standardized enterprise-wide food safety and quality assurance training programs, support innovation and product development projects, and participate in technical services assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in food safety and quality assurance facility audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and implement standardized enterprise-wide food safety and quality assurance training programs to educate employees on food safety and quality assurance best practices.
  • Support innovation and product development projects by providing technical expertise and conducting research on new food safety and quality assurance technologies.
  • Participate in technical services assigned projects, such as troubleshooting food safety and quality opportunities, and process and product development and improvement.
  • Analyze, summarize, and report out data associated with data/sample collection to inform business decisions.
  • Assist in quality system and food safety audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Assist in the roll out of and installation of new technologies or new products at production facilities.

Requirements

  • Education: University level studies in Food Science, Meat Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other related discipline.
  • Experience: Previous laboratory, food safety and quality, and/or research and development experience is a plus.
  • Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills: Intermediate computer skills including statistical data analysis. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, and willingness to learn enterprise-wide software.
  • Travel: Extensive travel to production facilities may be required.
