Join the Clover Park School District team as a Lifeguard, responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of pool patrons. This is a seasonal, at-will position with variable work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job SummaryThis position is located within the Maintenance & Operations department's community aquatics program and under the direct supervision of the Facilities & Recreation Coordinator and Pool Lead. The Lifeguard will be responsible for:
- Serving as a lifeguard for indoor pools, responsible for pool patrons' safety and health in attendance.
- Providing maximum surveillance of the pool area and rescuing swimmers as required.
- Administering first aid and keeping accurate records and reports.
- Assisting in maintaining the pool and area clean and free from hazards.
- Providing information to swimmers regarding safety, health, and admission rules and procedures.
To be eligible for this position, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Pass a pre-requisite lifeguard certification test and obtain training and certification upon hire.
- Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment verification (fingerprint) scan prior to the first day of employment.
Experience as a lifeguard, knowledge of proper lifesaving equipment, and water lifesaving skills are highly desirable.
Working ConditionsThis position requires working in an indoor recreational pool environment, subject to noise and distractions. You must be able to lift, walk, and move around the pool area, and be able to respond to crisis situations in and out of the pool.
