Key ResponsibilitiesGuidehouse is seeking a Budget Analyst to support our project initiatives. In this capacity, you will play a pivotal role in assisting upper management with their financial strategies, planning, and budgeting functions. The organization manages a substantial IT portfolio with various systems and stakeholders, and your duties will encompass:
- Assisting the Executive Office in crafting materials for presentations aimed at senior leadership and external oversight bodies, ensuring effective communication of financial program details.
- Conducting both cyclical and ad-hoc analyses of budget data to provide timely responses to inquiries using tools such as Excel.
- Tracking and reporting on budget execution trends for current year funding against established baselines and projections.
- Maintaining and scrutinizing the program's spending plans and execution workbooks while monitoring progress against established plans.
- Supporting leadership in various strategic and tactical budget exercises, including internal and external data requests.
- Identifying, designing, and implementing processes that enhance the budget function, fostering operational improvements, oversight, and transparency across diverse stakeholders.
Required:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- A minimum of FIVE (5) years of overall professional experience, with at least THREE (3) years in federal budgeting processes.
Preferred Attributes:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of independent work.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple work streams under tight deadlines.
- Experience functioning as both a business partner and a subject matter expert, with the capability to communicate complex budget information to varied audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of staff and leadership.
- Proficiency in analyzing and transforming financial data from government sources to address business inquiries and track key performance metrics.
- Familiarity with the federal budget development cycle and experience in process improvement specific to federal budgets.
- Experience in both budget planning and execution, along with the ability to create project plans and status reports for executive leadership.
