Summary:
As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist, you will utilize advanced echocardiography techniques to capture detailed images of patients' cardiac structures. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the assessment and diagnosis of cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct echocardiograms, including stress tests and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
2. Collaborate with cardiologists during transesophageal echocardiograms.
3. Consult with cardiologists for the interpretation of echocardiographic results.
4. Maintain accurate records of all tests performed for compliance and documentation purposes.
5. Provide a daily summary of patient charge requisitions, ensuring appropriate coding.
6. Offer training and support to echocardiogram students, residents, and medical staff.
7. Accommodate emergency patients requiring immediate testing.
8. Ensure that all documentation and files are current and organized, including service quotes and product information.
9. Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
1. Completion of a two-year cardiovascular technology program.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
3. Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients and their families.
Certifications:
1. Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
