Job Summary

AMIKids Caddo, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for teaching middle- and senior-high school classes, assisting in the testing program, and maintaining related administrative systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students in basic middle- and senior-high school subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Develop and implement educational development plans for each student, ensuring their academic progress and success.
  • Research, select, and maintain appropriate educational materials, equipment, and resources to support student learning.
  • Adhere to all contract and state educational guidelines and Quality Assurance requirements, ensuring compliance and excellence in education.
  • Maintain accurate and complete administrative file systems, including student records and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with the Education Coordinator or Principal to coordinate all activities and ensure seamless implementation of educational programs.
  • Administer pre/post academic assessment tests and pre-GED tests, managing the documentation of Carnegie Units (high school credits) for each student.
  • Perform home visits as dictated by program standards and/or state contract, providing support and guidance to students and families.
  • Serve as a positive role model and advisor for assigned students, promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
  • Drive institute vehicles as required, adhering to the Van Policy and ensuring student safety.
  • Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies, following Red Cross standards and protocols.
  • Participate in day trips and special activities, engaging students in recreational sports, facility and equipment cleaning, grounds maintenance, and equipment relocation.
  • Effectively use the Behavior Modification System, providing redirection and coaching to students who exhibit inappropriate behavior.
  • Prevent and intervene in student altercations and incidents, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors, ensuring the success and well-being of our students.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • One to two years related experience; state teacher certification preferred, school district's Substitute Teacher Certification or Approval required.
