Position Overview:
The Financial Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in providing essential financial and administrative support to the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring timely payments and managing expenses through the processing, verification, and reconciliation of invoices. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payments and oversee expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
  • Allocate expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice and expense reports; record necessary entries.
  • Facilitate vendor payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal identification numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving discrepancies related to purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments.
  • Ensure vendor accounts are accurate by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Safeguard the organization’s value by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Support the accounting and organizational mission by achieving related results as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with various accounting software, office equipment, and business systems.
  • Ability to perform financial calculations quickly and accurately.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and professional office etiquette.
  • Willingness to embrace new challenges and enhance processes.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
  • Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
