Tooele County is currently accepting applications for a Corrections Deputy position with the Tooele County Sheriff's Office.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Corrections Deputy, responsible for maintaining the security of the Tooele County Detention Facility and upholding order and ensuring prisoner welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the security of the Tooele County Detention Facility
  • Uphold order and ensure prisoner welfare
  • Perform various duties related to corrections and law enforcement
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • 2 years of responsible work experience
  • Ability to be qualified in the use of firearms
  • Pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug testing, and a psychological evaluation
  • 19 years of age at the time of hire
  • Citizen of the United States and resident of the State of Utah
  • Valid Utah Driver's License
  • No disqualifying criminal history or DUI convictions in the past two years
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is as follows:

  • Corrections Deputy I: $25.47
  • Corrections Deputy II: $26.75
  • Corrections Deputy III: $32.36

Applicants selected for hire will be given a conditional job offer based on successfully passing all phases of the selection process, a comprehensive background investigation, drug test, eye exam, and psychological examination.
