Job Overview

Verrazano Nursing and Post-Acute Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor. This role is essential in supporting medical professionals while delivering care to patients facing various health challenges. The supervisor will be responsible for administering medications, tracking patient progress, and providing education to both patients and their families as necessary.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, knowledge, and experience in patient care. This pivotal position also involves overseeing the facility's operations as a supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Valid NY RN license in good standing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or nursing facility
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities of the nursing staff in compliance with existing regulations and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as report writing, evaluations, charting, IV therapy, discharge planning, and incident reporting as required. Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families in planning care and treatment.
  • Ensure that nursing care is delivered with fairness, kindness, dignity, and respect to all residents. Prioritize resident needs effectively.
  • Enforce established policies and procedures, including dress codes and identification protocols, ensuring compliance among all nursing personnel. Facilitate educational opportunities for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Work collaboratively with support departments to ensure a smooth admission or transfer process, including room readiness and transfer of medical information.
  • Conduct rounds to assess patient needs, monitor care aspects such as diet and physical activity, and report any changes in patient conditions to the Unit Manager/Director.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
