Key Responsibilities- Triage and Assess Patients: Evaluate patients of all ages presenting for emergency care, making informed decisions to prioritize their treatment.
- Provide Timely and Compassionate Care: Deliver efficient and effective care to patients with emergency and life-threatening conditions, including those with broken bones, heart attacks, and strokes.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document patient notes, including changes in condition, transfers, and discharges.
- Communicate Effectively: Respond to incoming telephone calls, refer patients to the appropriate care zones, and coordinate ambulance traffic.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with primary ED attending physicians to manage patient care and make informed decisions.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Standards: Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Severity Index 5-level triage algorithm and demonstrate the ability to manage critical situations.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about medications, procedures, and treatments, offering support throughout their stay.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Experience: Previous emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care registered nurse experience preferred.
Moncks Corner Medical Center is a 445-bed hospital system comprised of two acute care hospitals and three freestanding emergency departments. We provide care to nearly 375,000 South Carolina Low country residents each year, with a team of over 2,600 employees, 500 physicians, and 130 volunteers dedicated to fulfilling our mission.
