About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Metropolitan Ministries. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational programs for young children in our community.

Job Summary

The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing educational activities and curriculum for assigned age groups. This includes creating engaging lesson plans, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom, adhering to best practices and licensing guidelines.
  • Write and submit weekly lesson plans to the Director, ensuring alignment with Promiseland policies and the mission of Metropolitan Ministries.
  • Maintain detailed records on children, including anecdotal records of progress and health records, and communicate with the Director as needed.
  • Administer and score student assessments, utilizing knowledge of community resources to provide referrals for children's specific needs.
  • Support the team in all other tasks as assigned and attend team meetings, contributing to the achievement of team and organizational goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and CDA; 40 hours of training in early childhood education and 5 hours of training in literacy.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher, with MMCI preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse parents and clients, and a high degree of maturity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and use a computer and related software.
  • Physical stamina to handle job-related issues and stress, with the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
