Job Title: Certified Nurse Assistant - Part Time Evenings

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team at Good Samaritan Society - Waconia. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) serves as a caregiver to our residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your knowledge of and delivery of age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
