Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our nursing team on a part-time evening shift. As a member of our care team, you will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to residents, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises to residents.
  • Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures as needed.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
