Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at Washington Regional Medical Center. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for obtaining patient vitals, updating medical history, and assisting physicians with procedures. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will make you an asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient vitals and update medical history while inputting data into the electronic medical records system
  • Prepare patients for procedures and examinations, and assist physicians as needed
  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax, or phone as authorized and appropriate
  • Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
  • Serve as a patient liaison and advocate, as needed
  • Schedule surgeries and diagnostic tests, and provide scheduled dates to patients
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous experience working as a LPN on an interdisciplinary team, preferred
Work Environment

This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
