Position Overview:

As a Charge Nurse, you will provide leadership and coordination of unit staffing while ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct, educate, and supervise nursing and support staff during your assigned shift, contributing to performance evaluations.
  • Assess daily patient care requirements and allocate patient care assignments, ensuring appropriate care is provided.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and address any issues impacting desired outcomes.
  • Manage patient care complaints through established channels.
  • Provide input for the hiring, training, and development of staff.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent use of speech for effective communication.
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Regular visual acuity for near and far distances, including color differentiation.
  • Frequent auditory skills to receive communication and detect alarms.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional patient handling and mobility assistance.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and other physical movements.
