Job Title: CAD/RMS Specialist Supervisor

Hamilton County Ohio is seeking a highly skilled CAD/RMS Specialist Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of our Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management Systems (CAD/RMS) and associated software applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily operation of CAD/RMS and related software applications, ensuring compatibility and access required to make CAD/RMS functional for use in the Communications Center and associated agencies.
  • Perform routine daily and weekly database checks and diagnostics, provide hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting for the main CAD/RMS servers and workstations.
  • Coordinate with local Police, Fire, and EMS agencies to analyze and program resource dispatch requirements utilizing drawings, data, maps and records.
  • Maintain daily relations with local Police, Fire and EMS agencies and vendors, attend meetings.
  • Use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software to maintain local CAD map data and coordinates between CAD and CAGIS geographical data.
  • Investigate questions of geography including determination of political jurisdiction and new construction, determine operating condition of CAD/RMS files.
  • Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot problems and takes appropriate action to ensure public safety, maintain system backups.
  • Perform file maintenance for paging system, radio system, and various security files.
  • Provide informal instructions for operation of CAD/RMS and their proper use, report 911 data errors to telephone providers.
  • Operate CAD system and coordinates the files that interface the radio system and mapping with the CAD system, retrieve dispatch records from the CAD/RMS systems and use voice logging equipment to retrieve phone and radio traffic to fulfill public information requests.
  • Assist vendors with software and hardware upgrades, assist in inventory and invoicing of equipment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Safety, Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • and/or experience which indicates a comprehensive knowledge of management, regulatory requirements, communications, Computer Aided Dispatch, Radio and Paging Systems, Microsoft Sequal (SQL) Database Administration, virtual servers, Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  • demonstrable ability to manage others from an administrative level.
  • Valid Driver's License issued by the state of residency.
Licensures and Certifications:
  • APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator; must obtain RCIC, NCIC, LEADS, APCO Basic Telecommunications & EMD Certification upon employment.
Work Location and Hours:
  • 2377 Civic Drive Cincinnati, Oh. 45231.
  • 40 Hour Work Week.
