Job Description

Software Engineer I (Connected Car Developer)

Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a team of passionate technologists. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using Connected Car and emerging technologies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic junior software developer to join our experienced connectivity service development team. You will report directly to the development manager and assist with all functions of software coding and design. Your primary focus will be to learn the codebase and assist in the development, issue/log analysis and QA activities.

Essential Functions

Activities related to Connectivity Service Development and Operations include:

  • Understanding the product and writing technical documents
  • Developing simple application programs to support project requirements
  • Working on minor bug fixes/project tasks
  • Unit testing application modules
  • Developing PoC to explore the feasibility of new technologies
  • Working with system analysis team to understand technical requirements and documenting
  • Conducting development tests and helping QA team with technical use cases
  • Supporting the development team with other team coordination and follow-up
  • Monitoring the technical performance of internal systems
  • Responding to requests from the development team
  • Supporting data analysis and reporting
  • Working with multiple teams to complete assigned tasks
  • Supporting production deployment (Planned/Incidents)

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • A fast learner with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly with minimal guidance
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
  • 1+ years of experience in coding languages like Java, C++
  • 1+ years of experience in developing REST webservices using Spring framework
  • 1+ years of experience in database technologies, operating systems, Web/Application servers
  • Good knowledge of software frameworks
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of test processes and agile development methodologies
  • Impeccable time management with the ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments under tight deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Well-organized with the ability to pay close attention to details
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; impeccable interpersonal skills
  • Curiosity and solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent analytical skills

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated expertise interfacing with business stakeholders is a plus
  • Working experience with a major consulting company is a plus
  • Around 2 years of software development experience/knowledge
  • Understanding of server and client APIs and writing API test scripts
  • Ability to root cause software failures

Salary range - $69,390 to $90,200
