About the Role

The ideal candidate for this Sales Associate position is a leader in customer service, product knowledge, and sales. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for driving sales volume for Nordstrom while championing the brand you represent. Your top priority will be the customer's satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve daily sales targets aligned to sales plans or sell-through goals
  • Provide honest and confident feedback to customers about style, fit, features, and benefits, and recommend additional or alternate items based on product expertise and customer needs
  • Seek fashion and product education from brand representatives and stay current on trends and inspiration for the brand you support
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with customers
  • Drive predictable business through appointment-based selling
  • Build relationships and partnerships with other Sales Associates, Stylists, and surrounding departments by extending yourself and conducting Sales Associate-run product knowledge meetings
  • Grow sales and customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts
  • Drive sales through reservation tool and digital selling
  • Attend department meetings and product knowledge trainings to build expertise
  • Provide consistent and actionable monthly product feedback to the merchant team and brand partner to influence future assortments more in line with customer needs
  • Partner with the department manager and lead to ensure front-of-house and back-of-house presentation meets brand and Nordstrom standards

Requirements

  • Proven track record of delivering on sales targets and customer service
  • Ability to read sales reporting in relation to goals and strategize ways to meet targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with customers and key store partners
  • Understanding of how to educate customers on product features and benefits, suggesting based on what will work for them
  • Confidence with high/low price points and ability to showcase to customers the value of the item and how it completes their entire wardrobe
  • Strong understanding of customers' holistic wardrobe and style, along with a high degree of organization, to be able to cultivate the relationship with outreach and suggestive selling
  • Ability to excel in a competitive team environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
