PMA Companies is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex and litigated Automobile, General Liability, and Property claims for our large self-insured clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigation and Evaluation: Promptly investigate all assigned claims for coverage, liability assessment, damages evaluation, and subrogation/contribution potential.
- Claims Resolution: Establish and execute appropriate action plans for claim resolution, including loss cost management, while achieving financial balance between allocated expense and loss outcome.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals and business partners in investigating and reaching appropriate disposition of all claims.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate technical proficiency through timely, consistent execution of best claim practices and established claims handling guidelines.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with internal and external customers on claims and account issues.
- Diary Management: Maintain and manage a diary system and claim pending to efficiently and effectively resolve all claims.
- Litigation Management: Effectively manage litigation process and defense counsel to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
- Client Management: Participate with client in the management of their litigation management program.
- Travel: Potential regional travel for attendance at depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit claim status and excess reports to client and their excess carrier(s).
- Compliance: Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards, and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in handling complex Automobile, General Liability, and Property claims required. Obtains and maintains state adjusting licenses, as appropriate.
