We are seeking a skilled Railroad Switchman to join our team at ITS Technology and Logistics, LLC.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain switch points to ensure safe and efficient train movement.
- Conduct regular inspections of track conditions, identifying and reporting any defects or hazards.
- Operate equipment to set and release handbrakes, ensuring the safe movement of trains.
- Assist as a Terminal Operator, performing groundwork tasks as required.
- Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars, ensuring safe and efficient train operations.
- Remove and replace broken knuckles (75lb railcar connectors), maintaining the integrity of the rail network.
- Ride moving cars via grab irons or ladders, ensuring safe and efficient train movement.
- Observe, interpret, and relay hand/lantern/other signals affecting train movement, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Judge and control speed and clearance distance of cars, ensuring safe and efficient train movement.
