The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Coordinator to provide exceptional support to patients and staff. This role is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for patients, from scheduling to check-out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
- Communicate with patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
- Coordinate visits within the department or between multiple departments.
- Verify and enter pre-registration and insurance information into the computer system.
- Prepare daily printed schedules for designated areas.
- Obtain and/or verify patient demographic data.
- Confirm appointments by telephone and/or mail.
- Collect payments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in customer service.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of medical insurance coverage.
- Medical terminology.
This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 8:00pm. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University is an equal opportunity employer.
