Key Responsibilities- Develop and Conduct Training Sessions: Prepare and conduct engaging training sessions and group psychoeducation for children, adolescents, and adults on topics such as drug and alcohol abuse, interpersonal skills, and mental health literacy.
- Collaborate with Community Groups: Collaborate with community groups to identify and address substance abuse and mental health issues, and develop effective prevention strategies.
- Research and Develop Educational Materials: Research, compile, and edit innovative lesson plans, course outlines, and training materials to enhance substance abuse and mental health education.
- Maintain Educational Resources: Maintain an extensive library of references, audio-visual aids, and educational resources to support drug, alcohol, and mental health programs.
- Recommend Improvements: Recommend improvements to existing curricula and develop new training packages to stay current with emerging trends.
- Assist with Prevention Activities: Assist community groups in creating age-appropriate prevention activities and special projects to promote education, prevention, and awareness.
- Document Program Activities: Accurately document all program activities according to agency quality standards.
- A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counseling, or a closely related human services field. (If your degree is in a different field, we require four years of relevant experience in mental health/substance abuse.)
- OR a High School diploma, GED, and four years of related experience working with individuals struggling with substance abuse.
- Substance use certification is preferred.
