Job Overview

Position Objective: Ensure optimal performance of automated systems and machinery by providing expert maintenance support. The role involves troubleshooting, programming, and enhancing robotic systems to meet production demands while maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for:

  • Installing and maintaining electrical systems, including transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery.
  • Conducting thorough inspections and tests on equipment, documenting all maintenance activities.
  • Identifying unusual sounds or operational discrepancies in machinery and collaborating with team members to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Dismantling and repairing defective machinery, ensuring the installation of new or refurbished parts.
  • Performing cleaning and lubrication of mechanical components to ensure smooth operation.
  • Designing, assembling, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including the repair of associated gauges and valves.
  • Implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all production and facility equipment.
  • Assisting in the optimization of tools, fixtures, and material flow, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilizing hand and machine tools safely, including grinders, saws, lathes, and mills.
  • Programming and troubleshooting robotic systems, ensuring synchronization and operational efficiency.
  • Adjusting robot programs and welding parameters based on product analysis.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to address chronic reliability issues through software and programming enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities:

The incumbent is also expected to:

  • Conduct all activities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support adherence to corporate health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement in line with industry standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical institution; five years of relevant experience in maintenance roles.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in robotic programming, preferably with Motoman or Siemens systems.
  • Experience in automated welding equipment is essential.
  • Three years of experience in an industrial automation environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Motoman Robotics programming (XRC, NX, DX) and Siemens or Allen Bradley systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of welding and metal forming techniques.
  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot robotic programs, customizing movements as necessary.
  • Understanding of manual and automated welding processes, including MIG and TIG.
  • Experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in robotic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
