Job Title: Personal Care Management Skills Trainer

Tempus Unlimited, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to empower individuals with disabilities to live independently. We are seeking a skilled trainer to educate consumers on how to manage their personal care attendant services.

Job Summary:

The Personal Care Management Skills Trainer will educate consumers on how to successfully manage their personal care attendant services. The trainer will also be responsible for other skills training department-wide tasks and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess consumers' ability to manage personal care attendant services
  • Train consumers and/or surrogates on the skills needed to manage their personal care attendant program
  • Maintain confidentiality in all consumer-related issues
  • Attend in-service, supervision, and staff development meetings as requested by the manager
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of program policies and procedures and Mass Health regulations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Independent Living philosophy of consumer control
  • Report all suspected incidents of consumer sexual/physical abuse and neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission (DPPC)
  • Work within company policies and in accordance with the PCM Contract to complete and track required documentation within required timelines
Requirements:
  • Experience providing services for individuals with disabilities
  • Knowledge of PCA programs is preferred
  • Experience in education, teaching, or counseling is helpful
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service systems is beneficial
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office/Outlook and the ability to navigate databases

Travel:

Travel is required for this position. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to travel within assigned service area.
