Job Overview:
In the role of Senior HVAC Specialist, you will report directly to the HVAC Foreman. This position is responsible for executing HVAC-related mechanical tasks, which encompass troubleshooting, installations, modifications, repairs, and routine maintenance utilizing relevant skills and expertise. Your contributions will be vital in sustaining primary and secondary heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, alongside control systems and associated equipment. Additionally, you will provide support to other trades within the department and oversee contractor personnel. Essential Qualifications:
  • Must possess a valid DPOR license as an HVAC technician.
  • A current driver's license and Universal E.P.A. certification for handling CFC refrigerants are mandatory.
  • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and mechanical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong working knowledge and demonstrated experience with tools and equipment pertinent to the HVAC industry.
  • Capacity to respond to campus emergencies within a 30-minute timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • DPOR licensure in additional mechanical disciplines.
  • DPOR master's license in HVAC is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with technology for requisition submissions and timecard management.
  • Certifications in welding, OSHA (such as trench safety, scaffolding, operating aerial lifts, asbestos, and HAZWOPER), and other trade-related credentials.
  • Experience with commercial steam pressurized delivery systems, converters, plate and frame heat exchangers, closed-loop systems, water chemistry, pumps, valves, cooling towers, ductwork fabrication, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with building systems controls, including communication protocols, DC and AC electrical power.
  • Preferred experience with BAS and/or instrumentation.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting written instructions, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
