Production Engineer - Sustaining and Quality Assurance
Job Summary:Entegris, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for sustaining and improving the quality of our commercial products, as well as leading continuous improvement projects to drive process efficiency and reduce product variation.
Key Responsibilities:- Sustain Productivity and Quality: Disposition non-conforming materials, establish/review/update SPC/SQC control limits, maintain FMEAs and Control Plans, and participate in customer quality and ISO audits.
- Drive Productivity: Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Monitor and manage continuous improvement plans.
- Reduce Variation: Identify key contributors to variation and implement effective control systems and enhanced manufacturing processes.
- Lead Root Cause Investigations: Troubleshoot equipment and processes, observe and perform experiments, locate the source of problems, and implement permanent effective corrective actions.
- Provide Technical Expertise: Act as the equipment and process technical expert, provide training and certification to Operation Associates, and provide technical troubleshooting guidance to Operation Associates, Process Engineering Technicians, and maintenance team.
- Mentor and Develop: Act as a mentor to Process Engineering Technicians, Engineering Co-Ops, and Entry-Level Engineers, and develop and execute Design of Experiment trials, manage new product scale-ups, and lead new equipment installations & qualifications.
- Collaborate and Improve: Collaborate with Equipment Engineering and Maintenance to identify and implement improvements to the preventative maintenance program, improve quality and utilization on automation equipment and processes, and develop plans and lead expansion of future equipment.
- Interface with External Vendors: Interface with external vendors to facilitate continuous improvement activities on supported equipment.
- Project Management: Act as a project manager for intra-module projects that require cross-functional support and lead projects from the feasibility stage to completion.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 3-5+ years of related engineering experience (experience in semiconductor or polymer processing is a plus) preferred.
- Skills: Experience with chemical blending, injection molding, or compression molding is preferred. Experience with manufacturing equipment with programmable user interfaces is preferred. Experience with manufacturing planning and/or raw material coordination is preferred. Capital Project management experience is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred. Experience with statistical software is required, experience with Minitab and/or JMP preferred.
- Personal Qualities: Strong statistical knowledge and background related to Six Sigma, SPC/SQC, and Lean Manufacturing. Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical presentations to management. Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams across different functions. Demonstrated business acumen and professionalism. Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written).
