Key Responsibilities- Assembly and Sub-Assembly: Assemble and sub-assemble aerospace parts using drills, rivet tools, and other hand tools, ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
- Quality Control: Verify the quality of assembled parts using calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments, ensuring that products meet customer requirements.
- Operational Efficiency: Follow established procedures and work instructions to complete work in an efficient and timely manner, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards, and communicate effectively to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent is required; vocational training in a technical/mechanical field is preferred.
- Experience: Six (6) months experience in mechanical assembly or a similar production/manufacturing role is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Experience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications is required; experience using precision measuring instruments, including mics and calipers, is also required.
The Assembly Technician will work in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly. The employee will be exposed to moderate to excessive noise, dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors, and extreme temperatures. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear, is required.
