Job Summary:

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day support of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide transportation and supervision for individuals as required to meet employment, recreational, and leisure activities.
  • Perform inspections of vans and ensure that all training for the safe transport of residents is followed.
  • Perform housekeeping responsibilities, including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, bedrooms, and floors.
  • Maintain all standards when preparing meals and managing diets.
  • Provide personal care support to individuals, including changing, dressing, and other ADLs.
  • Complete all documentation and notes as required using the Therap system and other programs.
  • Ensure that goals are being completed according to each individual's ISP.
  • Conduct evacuation drills and record results.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of person-centered outings.
  • Complete behavioral tracking logs as required.
  • Follow all agency, State, and Federal laws and policies.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Manage medical emergencies according to the health service plan.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues to supervisor or through NetFacilities if available.
  • Report to work promptly and on time and do not leave work until assigned shift ends or have approval from supervisor.
  • Complete Medication Administration and Proxy training.
  • Administer meds to residents and follow all policies related to MAR entries.
  • Track vital signs and other health-related information for residents.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to use technology to record notes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid drivers license.
  • CPR/FA certification.
