Job Overview

Thames & Kosmos is seeking a highly skilled Product Manager and Editor to join our Product Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing new products that inspire kids to think deeper, play longer, and figure stuff out.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, with experience in the toy industry or other children's consumer products/media. A bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering field is required. Professional writing experience, Adobe Suite skills, and technical drawing and CAD skills are a plus.

As a Product Manager and Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing new products from concept to release
  • Working with external suppliers and internal team members to create and manage product development schedules
  • Researching trends, competition, and user needs to develop fun new product concepts
  • Sketching, ideating, prototyping, and designing new STEM products and games
  • Creating new product specifications, product descriptions, and negotiating prices with suppliers
  • Managing bills of materials, cost quotes, and accurate item data
  • Performing thorough user testing for product usability and functionality
  • Advocating for usability, product value, and product awesomeness
  • Collaborating with teachers, educators, and educational consultants to review and test products for classroom use
  • Providing support to the sales and marketing teams, and attending trade shows

As an Editor, you will be responsible for creating and editing experiment manuals for science kits and other instructional materials, designing and developing lessons and experiments for science kits and toys, and collaborating on the development of new games.
