Harvest Cellar Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cellar Worker to join our team at Ponte Family Estate Winery. As a Cellar Worker, you will be responsible for assisting in the processing of wine from harvest to bottling, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cellar duties under the direction of the Cellar Master or Winemaker, including wine transfers, pump overs, punch downs, and racking of wine.
• Recommend and conduct repairs on winery equipment as directed by Cellar Master, Winemaker, or Facility Manager.
• Ensure the general cleanliness and sanitation of the cellar and equipment.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Cellar Master or Winemaker.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time, in indoors and outdoors, during inclement weather.
• Ability to work 8-12 hours per day during harvest.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. and regularly stand long periods of time.
• Basic knowledge of winemaking, different wine styles, and varietals, or willingness to learn.

Working Conditions:

The Cellar Worker will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to wine, cleaning chemicals, and other substances. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail is essential.
