Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team at Family Medicine New Holland. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
  • Administer injections, as prescribed by providers and in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by providers, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and other exams as designated.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence, in accordance with established triage protocols.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers.
  • Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in daily huddles with providers.
  • Act as a patient experience advocate, providing excellent customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) required.
  • CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license required for Regional Positions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
