We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Grant Program Coordinator to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The successful candidate will provide support for grant submissions and awards, working closely with Principal Investigators and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support for grant submissions, including proposal development, budget preparation, and submission to federal and non-federal sponsors.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of a funded project database, ensuring accurate and timely entries of new grant submissions.
- Coordinate the implementation of systems, policies, and procedures affecting the submission, review, approval, contract negotiation, activation, regulation, tracking, and reporting of grant applications.
- Ensure that administrative staff has all necessary grant forms and regulatory requirements for each grant submission.
- Review grant applications prior to submission to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with the Office of Research Administration, Grants and Contracts Accounting, and funding agency regarding grant preparation and submission.
- Work with Principal Investigators and the Office of Sponsored Programs to submit requested documentation to sponsors, negotiate new awards, and set up award accounts.
- Monitor active awards, submit progress reports, and assist with closeout of awards.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three years of extensive administrative experience, or equivalent experience with a preferred degree.
- Grant management experience, including pre- and post-award, progress reports, no-cost extensions, close-outs, reconciliation, effort and salary distributions.
- Experience with grant budget development and budget justifications, understanding of OSP, ORA, GCA, funding agency (NIH, DoD, CPRIT) grant-related deadlines, budgets, and federal/institutional policies and requirements.
This is a hybrid onsite/remote position, requiring willingness/ability to come on-site as needed for non-remote work activities such as PI/team meetings, training.
