About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures to help diagnose and treat patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general testing within the analytical laboratory, including blood tests, urine tests, and other laboratory procedures.
  • Apply technical knowledge and skills to department testing and clinical relevance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge and skills to stay current with new technologies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field, such as medical technology or laboratory science.
  • 1 year of related work experience preferred.
  • MLS with ASCP certification, or MT/MLT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification, or specialty ASCP certification in the assigned department required within 6 months of hire.
  • Physical Requirements: Light work (exert up to 20lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs frequently).
