Job Overview

We seek an experienced Lead Superintendent with higher education experience in New Haven, CT, responsible for managing entire trade or leading specific project features. This key role involves overseeing safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction across various aspects of the project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Procore, Primavera Scheduling, and CMIC are also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day coordination of Gilbane's trade contractors and sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work meets approved project schedules.
  • Develop, document, and communicate work plans regarding changes made in the field.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems.
  • Verify necessary permits for construction purposes and establish credibility among Owners, trade contractors, unions, etc.
  • Act as primary safety representative in the field, enforcing quality control policies.
  • Lead contractor meetings, maintain daily reports, and update project schedules using Procore.
  • Create contingency plans, communicate schedule status updates, and manage jobsite logistics.
  • Oversee project quality plan implementation and resolve jurisdictional disputes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 7-10 years of experience on $15 million or larger commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent role (higher education experience preferred).
  • Leading component or whole project, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $122,200 to $149,300, plus benefits and retirement program, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
