Key Responsibilities
  • Improve the efficiency and utilization of the production department
  • Ensure the quality of products built and resolve quality issues effectively
  • Identify and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent repetition
  • Collaborate with functional support departments to resolve quality issues
  • Address safety concerns and bring multiple product lines together to meet manufacturing plans
  • Ensure work instructions, procedures, and policies are followed
  • Motivate department members through involvement, communication, and positive reinforcement
  • Provide employees with feedback through formal and informal performance evaluations
  • Monitor attendance and take disciplinary steps as required
  • Deal with grievances and conflicts in a calm, controlled, and professional manner
  • Plan and staff manpower effectively, including operators and lead-hands
  • Ensure effective training and cross-training
  • Mentor and develop lead-hands to manage hour-by-hour manufacturing operations
  • Drive continuous improvement within departments to achieve better quality, productivity, and delivery performance
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques and ensure daily shop clean-up and machine preventive maintenance actions
Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and under pressure
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and strong aptitude
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and motivate a strong team
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to solve practical problems and difficult situations
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Qualifications
  • College degree or high school with 5 years of experience
  • 3-5 years of supervision experience with a proven track record in a high-volume, multi-product environment
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Comfortable in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
