Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at AmerisourceBergen Services Corporation. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest level of patient care and regulatory adherence in our Ambulatory Pharmacy.

• Collaborate with Pharmacists and management to gather patient information, review prescriptions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work directly with patients to create and manage patient profiles in the pharmacy information system.
• Enter prescription plan information and process patient prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists.
• Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy.
• Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification.
• Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase.
• Manage inventory, including submitting, receiving, and stocking medication.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering inbound calls and triaging calls to the appropriate staff.
• Assist with the review and handling of adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriateness of reimbursement and co-pay.
• Support pharmacists by providing required information for therapeutic consults with patients.
• Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues.
• Operate and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology.
• Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program.

Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience; bachelor's degree program preferred. Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification required. State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements.
