About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Marine Industrial Department at TranSystems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing industrial processes, developing 2-D drawings, and creating process flow diagrams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze industrial processes, including plant layout and general arrangement drawings.
  • Develop 2-D drawings for construction bidding and construction.
  • Create process flow diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Select and procure material handling and processing equipment.
  • Design and develop piping, pump layout, general electrical, and instrument control systems.
  • Prepare contract documents and perform evaluation studies.
  • Develop specifications and perform field work during design, analysis, and construction phases.
  • Review submittals, including equipment fabrication drawings.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
    • 3-D model development for conceptual layout and client presentations.
    • HVAC/Industrial ventilation calculations and design.
    • Pump, blower, compressor, fan sizing.
    • Generic structural equipment design.
    • Electrical design and control & logic design.
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of experience as a mechanical, chemical, industrial, or electronics engineer.
  • Experience with MS Office, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, or other similar 2-D/3-D pipe design software.
  • Familiarity with pipe stress and flow modeling software.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to engage multiple perspectives when solving problems and encourage reciprocal learning among team members.
