HSE Specialist

As a HSE Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Documenting safety inspections and reporting non-compliant areas/procedures
• Recommending corrective actions/procedures and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability
• Inspecting machines and equipment for accident prevention devices
• Observing workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment
• Inspecting specified areas for fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies
• Testing working areas for noise, toxic and other hazards
• Investigating accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety program
• Demonstrating use of safety equipment
• Performing real-time industrial hygiene air monitoring in work areas; collecting routine air, dust, gas and vapor samples

Additionally, you may be required to administer an EHS program on a small-sized project and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform your functions. You will typically work under the immediate supervision of the EHS Manager or site management.

• High school diploma or equivalent; AS or BS a plus
• Basic understanding of physical and biological science; specialized training and certification to meet regulatory requirements (OSHA, 40 hour HAZWOPER, applicable 8 hour OSHA training)
• Typically represents 4-20 years relevant experience
