Position Overview:
The Production Packer is tasked with the efficient palletization of Finished Goods (FG) onto designated platforms, ensuring that FG's are packed into appropriate containers following established FG guidelines and Work Instructions. This role provides essential support to specific production lines, aiming to meet safety, quality, and production objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct start-of-shift inspections and sanitation of equipment.
  • Engage in Preventative Maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Perform visual inspections of products for non-conformities and pack items efficiently.
  • Understand and implement proper pallet configurations for effective palletization.
  • Inspect master cartons for correct labeling.
  • Comprehend work order instructions thoroughly.
  • Assist with line changeovers as needed.
  • Utilize JDE systems to verify transaction accuracy.
  • Complete all required safety training and adhere to cGMP training protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with 6S standards.
  • Perform general cleanup and housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the incoming shift.
  • Adapt to various positions within the packing and palletizing team as required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand continuously for 8-12 hours and walk frequently up to 1000 feet at a time, utilizing both feet for balance while operating equipment.
  • Frequent pushing of full pallet jacks, rolls, or carts weighing up to 1200 pounds.
  • Ability to exert 50 pounds of force to push or pull pallets onto tables.
  • Occasional climbing of stairs or mobile ladders.
  • Intermittent bending, kneeling, or twisting to clear jams or refill supplies in machines.
  • Frequent use of both hands for reaching and grasping below shoulder height, operating pallet jacks, scan guns, and handling trash.
  • Constant eye-hand coordination while packing and monitoring product quality.
  • Regular use of hearing and vision to communicate with colleagues and respond to alarms.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds with assistance, with continual lifting of up to 25 pounds during palletization.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including hair nets, beard nets, smocks, gloves, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in ensuring that all tasks are performed safely. Effectiveness in this area will be considered part of your performance evaluation.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas to uphold cGMP standards.
  • Carry out other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and guidelines.
