Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division has an opening for a Machining II position.

This role will involve increased quality assessments and decision-making, requiring operators to select appropriate programming and adhere to basic tool setting protocols.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operate in a dynamic, safety-oriented, and quality-focused environment
Demonstrate attention to detail and self-motivation
Collaborate effectively within a team
Utilize gauges, tools, overhead hoists, and other equipment as specified by standard procedures
Machining II roles will also encompass some wire arc spray tasks
Conduct quality checks as per standard practices
Handle loading and unloading of parts/machines
Interpret blueprints accurately
Understand torque specifications and processes
May operate heavy machinery, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and/or electric pallet jacks for part movement
May involve operating CNC controls/programs
May require managing automated packaging equipment
May necessitate inspecting incoming materials and data entry

Cross-training in other roles within salary grade 3 may be required, based on meeting basic qualifications and physical demands.


Examples of roles within salary grade 3 include:
Machining 1, 2 Disassembly 1, 2 Cleaning 1, 2, Assembly 1, 2, Logistics 1, 2, and Quality 1
Utilize various computer systems, including email, regularly
Work autonomously in a minimally supervised environment

Basic Qualifications:
Basic computer proficiency (ability to read standard work documents and enter data)
Ability to read/write and interpret documents
Experience with basic tools (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.)
Knowledge of engines and components

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior machining experience
Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints
Forklift operation experience
Familiarity with gauges
Prior use of hoists
Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:
This role may be physically demanding and requires the ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced operations.
Some positions will necessitate forklift operation/training
Work in environments with fluctuating temperatures
Ability to walk, squat, and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
May require respirator physical and training
Ability to lift/push/pull heavy components up to 30 lbs. multiple times per shift.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Flexible scheduling is essential.
