As a key member of the financial management team, the Business Controller will play a vital role in guiding business units towards their financial goals.
Reporting to the Director of Business Control and Analytics, this position is essential for effective financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust financial background, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
This role will hold functional authority within specific areas of business control, focusing on APL, US Export, and G&A Cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct forecasting and strategic planning to drive financial performance.
- Provide in-depth analysis of financial outcomes and key performance indicators to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Assess the financial health of business units and offer actionable recommendations for enhancement.
- Collaborate with operational teams to comprehend business drivers and ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Develop and execute cost control strategies, identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings.
- Monitor and analyze discrepancies between actual and budgeted expenditures.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports to senior management, emphasizing significant trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Create financial models to support forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Assist in the formulation of financial projections and long-term strategic plans.
- Undertake miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written communication skills.
- Confident in presenting oneself in meetings and negotiations.
- Proficiency in Excel for creating and manipulating spreadsheets, including formulas and pivot tables.
- Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for document creation.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently for extended periods.
- Ability to quickly shift focus between topics and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and urgency.
- Experience in cost management and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).- Capability to investigate and analyze issues to determine the appropriate course of action.
- Ability to prioritize work on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Staff management experience is required.
- Negotiation experience is essential.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree is required; Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience is required.
- At least 3 years of general experience is required.
