Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Addictions Counselor to join our team at Sheppard Pratt. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide education and counseling on chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, and relapse prevention to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patient needs
  • Collaborate with community psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to provide a holistic treatment approach
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Certification as a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) or equivalent
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g. counseling, psychology, social work)
  • 2+ years of experience in substance abuse treatment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a normal office/group meeting room environment with occasional physical stress or risk presented through contact with aggressive or disturbed patients.
