Position Overview: The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) is tasked with executing the industrial security program, ensuring that security protocols are upheld at the Arete Huntsville Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate sensitive aspects of Department of Defense (DoD) security programs while ensuring adherence to government and organizational security policies.
  • Assist in clearance processing, visit certifications, document management, and physical security measures, including alarm responses for controlled areas.
  • Provide guidance on security issues such as security education, classified document management, investigations, and personnel clearances.
  • Utilize knowledge of Physical Security requirements to maintain the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program, safeguarding sensitive unclassified information and materials.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) to develop and deliver training and awareness programs.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other DoD security directives.
  • Ability to work independently and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey security policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with security databases such as DISS, eQIP, and NISS.
