Job Title: EHS Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Sterling Engineering. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with a focus on regulatory compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Advise facilities on regulatory compliance and S&E requirements, providing guidance on best practices and industry standards.
  • Partner with corporate S&E to develop and execute strategies for improving safety and reducing risk.
  • Assess, prevent, and manage S&E issues and risks, conducting inspections, audits, and investigations as needed.
  • Provide leadership and support for S&E initiatives, coaching and mentoring S&E professionals to ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Conduct shop floor inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coach and mentor S&E professionals to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Lead/participate in S&E audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety and reduce risk.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in environmental engineering, occupational safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Advanced certification in environmental, health, safety, or related field.
  • Completion of OSHA 511 and 501 courses.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements.
