Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist with Anne Arundel County Public Schools, you will provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities, promoting their health and functional independence to facilitate their access to educational programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and administer assessment tools to evaluate students' functional abilities and needs.
  • Interpret and report assessment results to stakeholders through the IEP team process.
  • Collaborate with the school team to develop student education plans and recommend appropriate services.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to facilitate student participation in the educational program.
  • Manage a caseload and convey essential information to colleagues/team members to ensure effectiveness and continuity of services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Experience in school-based occupational therapy.
  • Knowledge of the special education process and curricula of the schools in Anne Arundel County.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, community agencies, and the public.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) issued by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).
  • Occupational Therapist License issued by Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
  • Driver's License (DL) Class C Non-Commercial issued by Maryland or State of Legal Residence (MVA/DMV).

Professional Organization Affiliations or Memberships:

  • Active enrollment in Maryland Medicaid.
