Position Overview

The Aviation Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction initiatives within the aviation sector, ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of the construction project to guarantee timely and successful completion.
  • Safety Management: Participate in safety training programs and enforce safety protocols on-site.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm subcontractor insurance certificates to maintain compliance.
  • Scheduling: Prepare and oversee the Critical Path Method (CPM) job schedule.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain trust with Owners and Architects.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and coordinate the field construction team, including subcontractors.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and uphold quality control standards.
  • Procurement: Order materials and tools, ensuring efficient supply management.
  • Reporting: Generate necessary documentation such as time sheets, work orders, and daily reports.
  • Punchlist Management: Ensure timely completion of all punchlists.
  • Documentation Review: Review all project drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submissions.
  • Meetings: Lead or attend pre-job conferences and regular subcontractor meetings.
  • Testing and Turnover: Conduct start-up testing and facilitate the turnover process to the Owner.
  • Project Close-Out: Document final project close-out and secure Owner acceptance.
  • Manual Work: Engage in manual tasks only under exceptional circumstances.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as directed by management.
  • Multi-Project Supervision: Ability to oversee multiple projects across a wide geographic area.
  • Additional Duties: Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience (minimum 4 years as Assistant Superintendent).
  • Extensive experience in field construction at a supervisory level.
  • Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Proficient understanding of various construction trades and specifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and job scheduling practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency.
