KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Controller in the Finance and Accounting Department. This position requires close collaboration with the Corporate Controller to establish month-end standard operating procedures and assist in the oversight and training of Staff Accountants. The Senior Accountant will gain comprehensive knowledge of all Continental Floral operations and provide assistance to various branches with their accounting and financial requirements as needed. The primary focus will be on division-level accounting functions and the month-end financial statement closing and consolidation process.
Key tasks include:
- Monthly reconciliation of inter-company accounts and intercompany accounts payable and receivable.
- Support the Corporate Controller with weekly cash flow management for accounts payable, advising on inter-company remittance schedules and prioritizing external payment requests.
- Prepare and review schedules to substantiate transactions and ledger balances as necessary.
- Actively engage in the month-end closing process, including accruals, trial balance assessments, and necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Provide accounting guidance based on thorough research and adherence to GAAP; recommend enhancements to current accounting procedures.
- Assist the Controller with daily operations, additional responsibilities, and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Preferred experience in agricultural, manufacturing, or public accounting.

COMPENSATION
Our compensation structure reflects the labor market across various U.S. regions. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, alongside a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
The target salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000 annually.
