Production Operator 2nd Shift

This role will be 2nd Shift, 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday.
- Sort, Label, and Package Finished Goods: Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices.
- Inspect General Appearance: Inspect the general appearance of finished products.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Area: Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform 5S duties and audits.
- Prepare Cores for Machine Operators: Prepare cores for machine operators.
- Communicate and Coordinate: Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations.
- Track Multiple Orders: Track multiple orders being packed at one time.
- Improve Quality and Productivity: Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.
- Assist in Equipment Maintenance: Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement: Participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform Other Duties: Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
- Follow Instructions: Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.
- Safety Focus: Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Service and Quality Focus: Must have a strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause, then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
- Teamwork: Must be able to actively contribute in a team-based environment; encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
- Proficiency and Adaptability: Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.
- Flexibility and Dependability: Must have a demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
- Overtime and Computer Skills: Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests, and demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, especially strong MFG Pro transactional skills.
- Lift Truck Operator's License: Must be able to obtain a Lift Truck Operator's license.
- Lifting Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous Experience: 3-5+ years of previous experience.
- Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Solid interpersonal skills, mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical aptitude, and logical problem-solving skills.
- Independence and Motivation: Skilled in working independently in a safe and timely manner necessary; motivated towards productivity, safety, and quality improvements.
- Leadership and Adaptability: Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and knowledge about ELS Operating Principles preferred; adaptive, flexible, able to handle ambiguity.
- Team Environment: Experience working in a team environment.
