Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and certified yoga instructor to join our team at Jupiter Yoga. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for conducting and leading yoga classes, ensuring that students receive a safe and effective practice. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the history, philosophy, and ethics of yoga, as well as the ability to demonstrate precise alignment and lead sessions with confidence.

The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to build relationships and community among students. A passion for health and wellness, coupled with knowledge of anatomy and physiology, is essential for success in this role. You should also be knowledgeable in the implementation of the chakra system and mindful meditation.

This position involves several key responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead yoga classes, adapting to the needs and levels of your students.
  • Visually assess students to determine their level of practice and provide guidance accordingly.
  • Assist students in achieving precise alignment, using your expertise to improve their technique.
  • Demonstrate practice and techniques through clear instruction and positive reinforcement.
  • Possess the ability to move energy through the body and transform it during the warm-up, build-up, and cool-down stages.
  • Motivate students with words of encouragement and create a supportive environment.
  • Connect with students through fun, intelligent sequencing that caters to their needs.
  • Offer training recommendations to improve the practice of yoga, fostering growth and development.
  • Engage in administrative duties, including tasks related to scheduling, marketing, and customer service.

To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a yoga certification from a recognized institution, such as Yoga Alliance.
  • Have a minimum of 500 hours of teaching experience, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Be CPR/First Aid certified, ensuring your ability to respond in emergency situations.
  • Possess education or experience in health and fitness, providing a strong foundation for your teaching practices.
  • Be proficient in teaching the Vinyasa Flow, a dynamic and flowing style of yoga that requires great skill and artistry.
  • Have knowledge of the Chakra System, Pranayama, mantra, and mindful meditation, allowing you to guide students through a comprehensive and transformative practice.
  • Demonstrate business and administration skills, including the ability to manage schedules, budgets, and customer relationships.
  • Be available to work after-hours, on weekends, and public holidays as needed, showcasing your flexibility and dedication to your role.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
