Key Responsibilities
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the repair and preventive maintenance of all buildings under their care, including the management of outdoor spaces. This position requires effective communication with residents, staff, and management to uphold the company's standards.
Essential Duties:
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resident needs.
- Maintain the lawn and surrounding areas, including mowing and winterizing.
- Ensure occupied units are in good condition and unoccupied units are ready for new tenants.
- Perform snow and ice removal to ensure safety in common areas.
- Oversee subcontractor work as needed.
- Purchase necessary supplies for maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Assist in periodic inspections to identify repair needs.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma and have two to three years of experience in general maintenance or a related field. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential. Additional training or certifications in maintenance are preferred.
