AmeriCorps Public Health Advocate Opportunity
">This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on public health and community resilience while gaining valuable professional experience. As an AmeriCorps member, you will work closely with diverse communities to deliver emergency readiness education, engage volunteers, and support disaster recovery efforts.
">**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities within target communities to recruit a diverse pool of volunteers.
- Support the delivery of preparedness presentations and hands-only CPR instruction to build community resilience.
- Assist in navigating the onboarding process for new volunteers.
- Collaborate with regional teams to provide support during disaster response and recovery efforts.
**Requirements and Qualifications:
- You must be able to serve approximately 40+ hours per week for 5.5 months starting from February 2025.
- Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
**Desirable Qualities:**
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Team-oriented with willingness to help others without direct supervision.
**Benefits:
- A bi-weekly stipend of $869.57, paid every other Friday.
- A $3,697.50 education award upon successful completion.
